On Friday 29 Sep, The AKBCWA was honoured to host Former Korean Prime Minister and President to the United Nations Dr. Seung-Soo Han at Deloitte for our AKBCWA Leaders Dinner.
Our Corporate members sat down for a wonderful 3 course meal and heard from Dr. Han on a variety of topics including his take on the Korean peninsular situation. Dr. Han also took questions from members throughout and was very generous with his time. We would like to thank Dr. Han, L. Gordon Flake for helping to facilitate this evening, Eric Ripper our Patron and our corporate members for supporting this event.
Dr. Han was in Perth to speak at the Perth USAsia Centre In the Zone event held on Monday.
This event was open only to our Corporate members and is a continuation of a series of high-level, high profile leader events.
About Dr Seung-soo Han
Dr. Han has a distinguished political, diplomatic and administrative career serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Foreign Affairs, and Industry and Trade before serving as Prime Minister in 2008 and 2009. He also served as Korean Ambassador to the United States, Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Korea, President of the 56th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on Climate Change and Chairman of the 2009 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris. He is currently Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction and Water, special advisor to the High Level Panel on Water co-convened by the UN and World Bank, chair of the High-Level Experts/Leaders Panel on Water and Disaster, chair of the Water Advisory Group at the Asian Development Bank. He is also co-chair of the International Finance Forum (China). Dr Han is a Non-Executive Director at Doosan Infracore Co Ltd and senior advisor with the Kim & Chang law firm in Korea.
