The Australia Korea Business Council of Western Australia and Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea sign MoU

 

The Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AustCham Korea) and AKBCWA has formalized a reciprocal corporate partnership agreement to forge strong ties between the two respective organisations and their corporate membership base.

 

The agreement will allow commercial benefits to the corporate membership base as well as upcoming corporate events for the coming twelve months.

 

AustCham Korea was established twenty years ago as the peak body representing Australian and Korean business interests. Their mission is to foster a vibrant Australia-Korea business community through networking, information-sharing and representation.

 

The Australia Korean Business Council of Western Australia (AKBCWA) was established in 2010 and is dedicated to assisting Western Australian enterprises to develop and maintain open and cooperative relations between businesses in Western Australia and Korea.

 

Commenting on the new partnership, AKBCWA’s Chairman Tommy Shin, “the Board of AKBCWA welcomes thisnew partnership with an established group in Korea like AusCham Korea and this demonstrates how SouthKorea being Western Australia’s third largest trading partner will foster future growth to our group’s corporatemembers and increase trade and commerce between Western Australia and South Korea. We look forward to working closely with our new partners.”

 

AustCham Korea’s Chair, Chris Raciti also expressed his support for the MOU, stating, “Western Australia playsan important role within the Australian-Korean business relationship, particularly in the education, tourism, resources, energy and agriculture sectors. With the formalization of this MOU, both organisation look forward to strengthening their mutual ties with the aim of fostering a stronger and more prosperous business community."
